Commissar Yarrick - yellow trim and leather painted

A bit more progress on the mini. The trim is a joy to paint though it's easy to miss some of it in such a "blinged-up" mini. Still it amazes me how a simple trim on the edge of a cloack can make a mini stand out. Leather was a joy as well. I think GW's browns compliment each other realy well for highlighting and shading.

I think I should paint a mini with yellow armour in the future. Despite being so fond of painting yellow I've never painted an Imperial First or an Iyanden mini.

  1. I usually start with Calthan Brown and then go through all of the foundation yellows. After that I wash the yellow with Devlan Mud. I highlight using all the GW yellows going from the darkest to the brightest with the final highlight being almost pure white. I do a glaze of Gryphone Sepia and a final very light highlight with white.

If you wana go for an easier recipe try this:
    -Iyanden Darksun (basecoat)
    -Devlan Mud wash (shadow)
    -Golden Yellow (highlight 1)
    -Sunburst Yellow (highlight 2)
    -Bad Moon Yellow (highlight 3)
